This is a fun little game in a genre I'm wanting to call "rack up big numbers" games or some such. Simple mechanics provide many ways to get your car further down the track... racking up a big score. The added ability to control several "upgrades" to your car while it moves down the track makes it a lot more fun to me than the typical games like this. Often, you're just triggering the start of the event (like flinging a cat) and then waiting for the result. They're often pretty funny, but not very interactive or skillful.
With Gride, you've got some choices to make and you need to pay attention to get a high score. Pick from three upgrades to help your car get past the track's changing conditions -- higher traction when the ground is getting slippery; a speed boost to gain speed; lighten your load to gain altitude & distance off big jumps -- you'll need to play the game quite a few times to get the hang of the tracks, but I don't see that as a problem, since it's a lot of fun trying to get as far as you can.
